Strickland: Administrator |
| "When
I returned to town, I interviewed with three different practices.
After meeting Dr. Oliver and his wife, I knew immediately where I
wanted to be. There was no doubt in my mind." |
| "Most
people don’t realize that a doctor’s practice is
a big responsibility. It takes a lot of 'hands on' and a lot
of work to make sure things flow as they need especially with
changing governmental regulations, the cutbacks, etc. "Our
team is more of a family than just workers. When you add up
all the years of experience, it's pretty phenomenal: 53 years
worth of medical experience since the inception of practice
12 years ago. "This job gives me a satisfaction of accomplishment
that I probably could not see elsewhere." |

Curran: Physician's Assistant |
| "I
don't know of any PA's who came to town before me" |
| Henry worked
in inhalation therapy at St. Mary's while getting an undergraduate
degree in business administration. "I heard about physician's
assistants, and I was curious about medicine. It seemed like an
interesting path. The rest is history… |
| "When
you start out as a physician's assistant, you are thinking about
what you did good for folks. When you look back, and in my case,
it's been 30 years, you realize that folks were doing good for
you. Anytime you deal with people who are having to contend
with health care needs, you see their strengths. It's amazing
how strong they are, and they are good examples for you. It
minimizes your problems because of what patients are going through.
They handle their situation with grace and humor. It helps put
things in perspective in your own personal life. We all deal
with problems and issues. In medicine you get to see people
handling health care needs and concerns and family issues over
health care concerns." |

| "Working
for Athena Urology is the first time I have worked in urology. The
field is a good combination of medicine and surgery. I think that's
unique."
